To the world
This is a collection of stories written by children, teens, and young adults from Aguán. Writers ranged from ages; some were as young as six years old and others were young adults in their mid-20s. This section is divided between three sections, cataloguing over 20 letters into three divisions. Each was handwritten by a different writer, where youth had the option to use their first names, nicknames, initials, or sign anonymously in their declarations.
The translated letters below primarily answer the question: what would you like to tell the world about being from the Aguán? In the translation, the questions are re-stated at the beginning.

“I would like people to know that we suffer for being farmworkers. To me, being from Aguán means that we are honest hard workers.”
Letter #2 – Anonymous
“I would like to receive academic excellence this year and next year too. I live in the cooperative La Confianza and I would like to visit a part of Europe. My favorite colors are green and blue like the one in the sky. My age is 13-years-old and I would also like to see the seven wonders of the world.”
Letter #3 – Anonymous
“I come from a hardworking and humble family. To me, being from Aguán is something beautiful and very special. What I like the most about living in a farmworker cooperative is that I will always have a job secured to build my family’s home. What I like the most is being organized in community. Being from Aguán means something beautiful.”
Letter #4 – Anonymous
“What I like the most about belonging to the campesino movement is that through it I learn new things, like through conversations, training, and meeting new people. I would like to tell the world that I am a humble person and I dedicate myself to agriculture. I come from campesino parents and I had to learn to be self-sufficient at a young age because my mom passed away when I was only 12 years old, and since that moment I’ve had to learn to be independent.”
